Oklahoma and Arkansas Advance from Lexington Regional Showdown

Under the bright lights of Historic Memorial Coliseum, the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Lexington Regional unfolded as a high-stakes postseason showcase. The precision, poise, and power defined every routine. The competition brought together some of the nation’s top programs and standout individual qualifiers. With all the teams chasing a coveted spot at nationals. From the opening rotation to the final dismount, the energy inside the arena reflected the intensity of the postseason, where every tenth mattered.
The competition opened with a strong showing from Rutgers, who advanced out of the First Round with a 196.200, defeating Central Michigan (195.700) to move into the semifinal field.
Friday’s semifinal sessions set the tone for an elite regional final. In Session I, No. 9 Arkansas R (197.175) and No. 8 Missouri (196.875) advanced, outpacing Maryland and NC State. Session II saw No. 1 Oklahoma post a commanding 197.875 to lead the field, followed by Ohio State (196.550). Rutgers (196.300) and host Kentucky (196.175) delivered competitive performances but failed to advance.
Sunday’s regional final belonged to Oklahoma, as the Sooners delivered a top score of  198.350 to claim the regional title. Arkansas followed with a 197.450 to secure the second automatic qualifying spot to nationals. Missouri (197.225) and Ohio State (196.700) rounded out a tightly contested final.
The NCAA regional format once again emphasized both team depth and individual excellence, with teams competing nationwide alongside individual qualifiers aiming for limited national championship berths. From each region, the top two teams, along with select all-around competitors and event specialists not on advancing teams, earn automatic qualification.
With their performances in the Lexington regional Oklahoma and Arkansas advance to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships, set for April 16 and 18 at Dickies Arena, where the nation’s best will compete for the title.
