Tigers Reign Supreme: LSU Secures 2025 SEC Gymnastics Title in Thrilling Showdown

Birmingham, AL – The 2025 SEC Gymnastics Championships, held in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Legacy Arena on Saturday, March 22nd, delivered a thrilling display of athleticism and competition, ultimately culminating in a decisive victory for the LSU Tigers. The atmosphere within the arena was electric, as fans witnessed some of the nation’s top gymnasts vying for the coveted SEC title. The event showcased the exceptional depth and talent within the Southeastern Conference, reaffirming its position as a powerhouse in collegiate gymnastics.

LSU’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. They achieved a remarkable team score of 198.200, a record-breaking achievement for the program at the SEC Championships, solidifying their dominance. This win marked their sixth SEC title in program history, and demonstrated the program’s strong consistency. The Tigers displayed exceptional execution across all four events, with particularly strong performances on the uneven bars and balance beam. The teams consistent high scoring through all rotations, showed how well rounded the team is this year.

The competition was fierce, with other top-ranked teams like Oklahoma and Florida delivering outstanding routines. Oklahoma, finishing a close second, and Florida, finishing third, demonstrated their strength and skill, pushing LSU to perform at their absolute best. Individual performances were also a highlight of the championship. Florida for example, had an amazing showing on the uneven bars, that included multiple perfect 10 scores. This level of competition created an exciting environment for all spectators.

Individual standouts emerged throughout the championship, with notable performances across all apparatuses. Haleigh Bryant of LSU, with an all around score of 39.725, took the all around title, and also shared the beam title. Florida’s Selena Harris-Miranda achieved a perfect 10 on vault, and Florida also had Leanne Wong, and Riley McCusker achieve perfect 10’s on the uneven bars. Mara Titarsolej from Missouri also achieved a perfect 10 on the uneven bars. Faith Torrez from Oklahoma scored a perfect 10 on the floor exercise. These individual achievements added to the excitement of the event.

The 2025 SEC Gymnastics Championships not only showcased exceptional athletic talent but also highlighted the dedication and hard work of the gymnasts and their coaches. The event was a testament to the growth and popularity of collegiate gymnastics, with increasing fan engagement and media coverage.
