Lexington, KY – The Kentucky Wildcats closed out their home season Sunday against a feisty Florida Gators squad. This was a neck-and-neck match-up with the lead fluctuating throughout the meet as the no.5 Gators spoiled the no.6 Cats senior day at the very last moment. Kentucky would end up setting a new program high score of 198.100, but Florida’s 198.225 was just a bit much in the end.
Kentucky was able to put together their new program high in part due to Makenzie Wilson’s second perfect vault of the season and Raena Worley’s third perfect floor routine.
The afternoon also saw the last performances by four seniors, two super seniors and the team manager. The post-meet celebration acknowledged seniors Carissa Clay, Bailey Bunn, Hailey Davis and Isabella Magnelli as well as manager Teagan Garrison. Super seniors Arianna Patterson and Raena Worley were also recognized for their extended collegiate careers. The celebration featured “goodby gymnastics” videos from each senior and framed leos to commemorate their time at UK.
