Tensions were high when the Las Vegas Aces traveled to Indy to take on the Fever in Game 2 of the WNBA Playoffs opening round. During the 2nd quarter, the Fever trailed by double digits and flipped a switch and there was no looking back.

Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell all scored 20+ points with Clark dishing out 15 assists while Raven Johnson, though not huge on the stat line, played a crucial role in major moments on the defensive end and hit key shots when called upon.

The Fever outdid the Aces in nearly every statistical category and put the pressure on MVP A’ja Wilson as well as Jackie Young, forcing key turnovers and missed Aces shots at just the right times and there was no denying the Fever on the defensive end.

The Gainbridge Fieldhouse acted as a game-long sixth man, getting louder and more raucous as the game progressed and, by the time the contest reached the final minutes, they cranked up the energy, making it an overwhelming experience.

One pivotal moment of the game saw Aces’ Wilson get into an altercation with a courtside fan, who pointed at Wilson after a paint play, causing the benches to clear and the fan escorted off the court for some time.

Wilson was then assessed a technical foul, which wasn’t the only emotionally-charged moment- with Fever’s Clark receiving a technical in the 2nd quarter and then fouling out of the game in the final 3 minutes.

Luckily, the Fever have Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Sophie Cunningham, who all picked up the slack and carried the team on their shoulders enroute to a 99-89 victory, as they head back to Las Vegas for the series-deciding Game 3 on Thursday night, which will be broadcast on USA.
