WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — CJ Carr threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, and No. 3 Notre Dame rolled past Purdue 49–10 on Saturday in the 90th meeting of the in‑state rivalry.

Notre Dame scored 35 straight points in the first half and controlled the game from the opening quarter. Carr connected with Micah Gilbert for a touchdown after Purdue’s failed fake punt set up a short field, then added a 1‑yard rushing score and a 3‑yard touchdown pass before halftime. A strip sack by Bryce Young led to a 15‑yard fumble return by Drayk Bowen, pushing the Irish lead to 28–0.

Purdue struggled to generate offense, finishing the first half with just 12 rushing yards and managing only a field goal off Carr’s lone interception early in the third quarter. The Boilermakers’ only touchdown came with six seconds left, when Evans Chuba hit Bisi Owens for a 14‑yard score.

Carr finished 14 of 22 for 237 yards. Aneyas Williams added 80 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Irish, who improved to 4–0 and extended their winning streak to 14 games.

Ryan Browne went 18 of 28 for 111 yards for Purdue (1–3), which dropped its third straight and has yet to beat a Power Four opponent this season.

Notre Dame outgained Purdue 444–218 and forced two turnovers while retaining the Shillelagh Trophy for the fifth straight meeting.
