Lexington, KY – The 5th ranked Kentucky Wildcat gymnastics returned home for a match-up against Missouri at Rupp Arena on Friday night. The dual top-15 meet saw Kentucky jump out to a slim lead after the first and second rotations. The third rotation, the balance beam, saw the Cats struggle with several falls and balance checks, allowing the Tigers to take the lead through three events. But Kentucky would seemingly use the beam misfortunes as motivation for an already strong floor rotation. The floor rotation saw the final five participants all put up 9.925 or higher, propelling the Cats past the Tigers, who saw their own issues with their beam rotation.
The final score would see the Cats with a 197.350 to Missouri’s 196.600.
The Cats will match up with BYU next Friday at 7 p.m. at Rupp Arena.
