With the victory, the (5-1) Cardinals clinched the MAC West Division and a trip to Ford Field in Detriot to face the MAC East champion (5-0) Buffalo Bulls. The Cardinals scored 17 points unanswered, including a 22-yard field goal by Jack Knight with 29 seconds remaining in the game who had missed two extra points earlier. The Broncos still had time for a wild last-ditch effort, which they nearly pulled off. Skyy Moore scored a touchdown after several laterals, and the Cardinals prematurely rushing the field. A penalty wiped out the potentially winning touchdown for an illegal forward pass during the chaotic last play. The Cardinals will face Buffalo for the MAC title on Friday, Â December 18th at 7:30 pm on ESPN. -Tony Vasquez Ball State vs. Western Michigan University
