The victory was a statement win for Indy, who moved to 5-1 on the season and snapped Dallas’ impressive four-match winning streak. It marked Indy’s first home sweep in nearly a year, delighting a raucous crowd that saw their team claim undisputed possession of first place. ➡️ Ignite vs Pulse photos From the opening serve, the Ignite established a rhythm that the Pulse simply couldn’t break. Indy’s offensive attack was remarkably balanced, led by outside hitter Kayla Lund and middle blocker Lydia Martyn, who each hammered down 10 kills. The first two sets were clinical; Indy used a relentless 16-6 run to close out the first frame and never looked back in the second, keeping Dallas out of system with a service attack that produced seven aces. The third set proved to be a marathon of resilience. Refusing to go quietly, Dallas staged a late rally behind Sofia Maldonado Diaz and Mimi Colyer, turning a 21-17 deficit into a 23-22 lead. The teams traded blows in a high-stakes “overtime” battle that saw the score tied six different times. However, the Ignite’s veteran poise shone through as they fended off multiple set points, finally sealing the match 29-27 after a Dallas attack sailed long. Indy’s defensive effort was the unsung hero of the night, racking up 51 digs to frustrate the Dallas hitters. Elena Scott anchored the back row with 12 digs, while setter Mia Tuaniga directed the offense with precision and contributed seven digs of her own. For Dallas, the loss serves as a rare stumble in an otherwise stellar start to the season, as they fall to 4-2 and look to regroup before heading back to Texas.
