Columbus, IN – A fire alarm created an unusual twist in Tuesday night’s Hoosier Hills Conference volleyball matchup between Columbus East and Bedford North Lawrence, halting play during the second set. When play resumed, it briefly appeared that the Olympians had gained some momentum.

But the Stars closed the door late, denying East a fifth set and securing a 25-22, 25-21, 16-25, 26-24 win. The loss marks East’s first blemish in conference play this season. The Olympians held leads in every set but couldn’t close them out. Still, East displayed solid balance across the lineup, with Payten Osborn delivering 22 assists and five aces, Chloe Gill contributing eight kills and 20 digs, and Lilah Klei adding 12 kills and two aces. East will look to bounce back at home Thursday night when they host New Albany.
