The annual rivalry week matchup between the Columbus East Olympians and the Columbus North Bulldogs girls soccer teams kicked off Wednesday night at the BCSC Soccer Complex. While East had the home field, North controlled the game from start to finish, rolling to an 8–0 victory.

The Bulldogs (3-1) wasted no time setting the tone. Just two minutes in, Avery Baker lifted a shot over East goalkeeper Cara Veach for the opening goal. From there, North was off to the races. North’s pressure paid off with two more first-half goals. Lily Ryan and Allison Kolhouse scored in the first for a 3–0 lead at the break.

The Bulldogs came out of halftime even sharper, scoring five more goals in the second period. Statistically, North dominated every phase of the match, outshooting East 38–1 with 23 shots on frame. Bulldog goalkeepers Gabby Revell, Danika Hoehn, and Karleigh Campbell combined for the clean sheet without recording a save, while Veach kept battling for East and finished with 15 saves.

Columbus North travels to New Albany on Tuesday, while Columbus East doesn’t return to action until September 9 at Bedford North Lawrence.
