Indiana bounces back, dominates Golden Gophers at home

On a chilly night tonight, the Hoosier women’s basketball team took on the Minnesota Golden Gophers, looking to rebound after a tough loss in Iowa City last week, while Minnesota looked for the hat trick in a three game winning streak.

The game started off hot with Minnesota taking an early lead. It wasn’t long, however, before Indiana kicked things into high gear- creating a 10-point gap late in the first half.

With the roar of the crowd helping on defense IU continued showing aggression ending the first half 29-47.

The aggression didn’t stop there.  After halftime Indiana continued to put the pressure on Minnesota, expanding the 10 lead to 20 points late in the third quarter. Minnesota would fight and claw its way back, however the pressure from Indiana combined with hot hands beyond the three-point arc would prove to be too much for the Golden Gophers.  The final score was 62-85.

With a 23 point win, the Hoosiers improve to 15-2 and look to use this momentum in efforts to knock off Purdue when the two teams meet on Sunday while Minnesota will look to get back to winning against Michigan State Saturday.
