Purdue’s offseason has been a period of enormous transition. The Boilers have lost their head coach Jeff Brohm as he returned to Lousiville after the Big Ten Championships loss to Michigan. The Boilermaker’s new coach, Ryan Walters, did not coach in the bowl against the 17th-ranked LSU Tigers. The former Purdue star quarterback Drew Brees couldn’t even help the team as he was filling in for the short-staffed Boilers. Chip Kelly’s LSU Tigers dominated Purdue from the start, leading at the half 35 -0. Purdue did manage one touchdown in the fourth but was blown out 63 -7 in the Cheez•It Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
