Penn State Beat a Shorthanded Minnesota Team

Penn State Wins their opening game 60-51 over Minnesota.  Guard Jalen Pickett led the way for the Nittany Lions with 22 points. Sam Sessoms scored 14 Points playing off the bench.

Minnesota was led by Jamison Battle who had 19 points. The trio of Payton Willis, Eric Curry and Sean Sutherlin all scored 10 points for Minnesota in the losing effort. The Golden Gophers were all busy tonight with four of the starters playing all 40 minutes and Curry playing 39. The shorthanded Golden Gophers finished the year with a 13-17 record.

Penn State live to fight another day and will face Ohio State tomorrow at 9pm
