Northwestern wins their first game of the Big Ten Tournament 65-60 over Minnesota. Northwestern started off slow the first half shooting less than 32% from the field. It was the play of Veronica Burton who scored 18 points and had 8 rebound with 8 Assist that lead the Wildcats to victory. Courtney Shaw had a double-double which was her seventh for the year. Lauren Satterwhite helped out with 15 points of her own. Despite their season low shooting the three, Northwestern won the game to advance to the next round vs Iowa.
Sara Scalia and Kadi Sissoko both scored 18 points for Minnesota, the Golden Gophers trade lead changes with Northwestern 16 times but could not come up with the seventeenth to win the game. Minnesota finishes the season 14-17 and looks to improve next year.
