The Indy Eleven lose a tough match in Fenton, Missouri against Saint Louis FC 1-0 at West Community Stadium. It was a hot evening in Missouri, and at least it’s the only game the Eleven have in that time slot for the year.
It was a tough one for the Eleven to lose as they had a 19-2 advantage in shots against St Louis and a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal attempts.
It was the one shot in the first half Saint Louis attempted that cost the Eleven. Tyler Blackwood in the 24th minute hit the shot from inside the 18′ that put St. Louis up for good for the win. Indy continued to have chances but could not capitalize on the opportunities.
The Eleven are still in the lead in Group E at 4-1-0 with 12 points. Then next match will be at home on Wednesday evening against Hartford Athletic who is 3-0-0 for the season and on top in Group F.
This could be a preview of the first round of the playoffs in October as these two Groups are slated to battle in that round. It should be a good match on Wednesday evening.
