Komets take down Wings

The Ft Wayne Komets (8-4-1) took on longtime rival the Kalamazoo Wings (4-4-2) Friday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, in Fort Wayne.

The scoring would start early as Komets would score 33 seconds into the first period, (Jenks, Szydlowski) the Wings would tie the game up at 6:49 in the first period. It would be the Komets the rest of the first and pretty much the rest of the game as they would light the lamp two more times making it a 3 to 1 game with goals by Oliver Galipeau, and the first Power Play goal of the game by Shawn St-Amant.

It seems like the wings would make it a game when they scored early into the 2nd to make it 3 to 2 but the K’s would put another one on the board with their 2nd power play goal of the night (Ross, Szydlowski, Morrison) to make it 4 to 2.

The 3rd period the Komets would pretty much seal the deal with three more goals first again on a power play at 10:56 the third one of the night (McKenzie, St-Amant, Galipeau) and again at 11:25 by (Morrison, Lyszczarczyk,Stewart) and they would seal the deal with a short handed goal from McKenzie his 2nd of the night to make it 7 to 2. Dylan Ferguson would stop 31 shots on goal, Komets had 34 shots on goal. Then Komets travel to Cincinnati to take on the Cyclones.
