Princeton believed they could do it and they did. Princeton defeated Kentucky 69-62 on Saturday afternoon at Simon Skjodt  Assembly Hall. Abby Meyers scored a career high 29 points and Kaitlyn Chen scored 17 points to lead the charge for the Tigers. This was Princeton’s 18th win in a row. The win should not be surprising as the Ivy League Tournament champions have won 42 games in a row versus conference opponents. The Tigers are use to winning.

Kentucky was hot coming into the tournament winning 10 in a row also won the SEC tournament title. Rhyne Howard finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Howard, the three time All American for Kentucky, suffered a hip injury.  Kentucky tried to press Princeton causing 19 turnovers, but that was not enough. We will get to know Rhyne Howard even more over the next few weeks as she is expected to be one of the top picks in the WNBA draft. Hopefully the Fever are taking note.

Princeton will face the 3rd seed Indiana Hoosiers who are the host for this bracket of the tournament. The Tigres are hungry and ready to continue shocking the basketball world.
