
Fishers, IND – The Orlando Valkyries defeated the Indy Ignite in a four-set match on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Fishers Event Center. The Valkyries’ strong blocking game proved to be a key factor in their victory, holding the Indy Ignite to a .171 hitting efficiency. The set scores were 22-25, 25-16, 26-24, and 28-26, resulting in a final score of 3-1 in favor of Orlando. This win extended Indy Ignite’s losing streak to five matches.
Indy Ignite started the match strong, winning the first set 25-22. Azhani Tealer led the Ignite attack in the first set. However, Orlando quickly rebounded in the second set, winning 25-16. The Valkyries’ momentum shift was evident as they tightened their defense and increased their blocking efficiency.
The third and fourth sets were closely contested, with both teams battling for crucial points. In the third set, Indy Ignite held a late lead, but Orlando rallied to win 26-24. The fourth set was equally intense, with Indy fighting off multiple match points. Ultimately, Orlando secured the set 28-26, and the match.
Orlando’s blocking performance was a standout feature of the match. After recording only one block in the first set, the Valkyries tallied 13 blocks in the subsequent three sets. Natalie Foster led the way with four blocks, while Kaz Brown, Brittany Abercrombie, and Norah Sis each contributed two blocks. Rookie outside hitter Norah Sis had a notable performance, recording a team-high and career-high 19 points and 17 kills.
Despite the loss, Azhani Tealer led the Indy attack with 21 kills. Nina Cajic contributed 15 kills for Indy. Sydney Hilley recorded 51 assists. The Indy Ignite now faces a critical juncture in their season as they fight for a playoff spot.
