The team also boasted a significant front-court height advantage. For Vanderbilt, this match was an important opportunity to gain experience as they prepared for their inaugural NCAA season in the fall of 2025.

The match provided a valuable opportunity for both teams. Purdue aimed to continue building momentum and fine-tune their strategies, while Vanderbilt sought to test their abilities against a strong opponent and gain competitive experience.
