Purdue handles USC

The Purdue Boilermakers handled the USC Trojans on Friday night winning 90-72 at Makey Arena. Trey Kaufman-Renn led Purdue in scoring with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Fletcher Loyer scored 14 points, and Braden Smith with his fancy moves on the floor had 9 points and a team-high 13 assists.

USC’s Wesley Yates III scored a career-high 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down Purdue’s strong performance. Purdue frustrated USC and its coaching staff all night and they just could not keep the game close.

It was a commanding win for Purdue who now has a record of 19-5 overall and 11-2 in the Big Ten. Purdue will travel to Ann Arbor to face #24 Michigan on Tuesday night.
