The match, held at the Fishers Event Center, saw the Ignite take control early and never relinquish their grip, winning in straight sets 25-20, 25-20, 25-17. This victory marks a strong bounce-back for the Ignite after a tough five-set loss to the Vegas Thrill just days prior.
The Ignite’s dominant performance was fueled by a strong net presence, out-blocking the Fury 14-3. Middle blocker Lydia Martyn led the charge with five blocks, while Blake Mohler and Azhani Tealer each contributed three. This defensive effort stifled the Fury’s attack and allowed the Ignite to control the tempo of the match.
Offensively, the Ignite spread the ball around effectively, with Leketor Member-Meneh leading the way with 13 kills. Nina Cajic also reached double figures with 11 kills, while Tealer added seven. Setter Sydney Hilley orchestrated the attack with 35 assists, while also contributing 13 digs and a block.
For the Fury, this loss marks their seventh straight defeat, leaving them still searching for their first win of the season. Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Fury. Abby Walker led the team with eight points, while Megan Lush, Izabella Rapacz, and Kaley Rammelsberg each contributed six. Defensively, Paula Cerame had 18 digs, and Wilma Rivera added 13 assists.
Overall, the match was a dominant display by the Indy Ignite. Their strong net play and balanced offensive attack proved too much for the Columbus Fury to handle. The Ignite will look to build on this victory as they continue their season, while the Fury will aim to find their footing and secure their first win.
