Lexington, KY – While it may have been a pajama party at Rupp Arena Friday night, the 5th-ranked Wildcats were all business until they donned their flannel pants after the meet. The Cats jumped out to an early lead and would hold that throughout the rest of the meet. The biggest highlight came at the end of the second rotation, where Raena Worley finally got her first perfect 10 on bars after so many close calls over the years. This would mark her third 10.000 in four weeks, following up two perfect floor routines.
The beam rotation was much more along the lines of what Kentucky is used to performing, and the floor exercise is where they increased their separation significantly. All counted floor scores were 9.900 or higher, and the crowd and team were disappointed that we didn’t get a perfect 10 for Worley there, as one judge issued a 10 and the other a 9.950.
The final score would see the Cats with 197.775 to BYU’s 196.600.
The Wildcats hit the road against Arkansas on Friday at 8:30 before heading home for the final home meet of the season against the Florida Gators on March 3rd.
