The Iowa Hawkeyes shot the lights out in the second game of the day to beat Northwestern 112 to 76. It was raining threes as Iowa shot 65.5% from beyond the arc. From the field as a team, they shot 61,4% and never looked back. In the middle Iowa also dominated taking control of the boards grabbing 45 while northwestern only had 18. Iowa started the game 17-4 and never looked back. It was just an all-around dominate performance by the Hawkeyes. Iowa set a Tournament record for 3-point baskets made at 19 and field goals made at 43 today. it was also the 400th victory for their coach Fran McCaffery.
Northwestern looked like they had no gas. It’s tough playing late the night before and then playing early the next day. they were down 64-31 at the half and just could not do anything right. Northwestern finished the season with a 15-16 record.
Iowa’s leading scorer was Keegan Murry with 26 points and Jordan Bohannon added 17 points.
Iowa will play Rutgers on Friday afternoon.
