The Indiana Fever announced today the team signed center Alaina Coates to a training camp contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“Alaina is having an excellent overseas campaign in Turkey and she will bring another solid post presence to compete for a roster spot on our team.” Fever Head Coach Marianne Stanley said.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft last played in 2020 with the Washington Mystics. In the condensed regular season, Coates scored a career-high 11 points in a game against the Dallas Wings.
The 6-foot-4 center from South Carolina has played 75 career games, while shooting a career 54.9 field goal percentage.
In 24 games with Nesibe in Turkey this offseason, Coates is averaging 17.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
