Illinois holds off Charlotte 24-14 on Saturday afternoon. In the third quarter, Chase Brown, who was back for his first game from injury, put the game away for the Illini with his 80 yard touchdown run. That was the icing on the cake for Chase Brown who finished the day with 257 yards and two touchdowns. Chase Brown had the 4th best rushing day in school history with his 257 yard effort. The 30,559 in attendance went home happy as the now 2-4 Illini show some new life on offense. The defense even stepped up in the second half holding the 49ers scoreless during the last 30 mins. The victory snaps Illinois 4 game losing streak.
