Ron Capps wins the title at the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil on Sunday afternoon. In the final round, Capps ran a 4.110 seconds at 294.63 mph to beat J.R. Todd. Capps defeated Tim Wilkerson, Blake Alexander, and Bob Tasca III to make it to the finals against Todd. This was Ron Capps first victory of the year, his 65th of his career and his first at Lucas Oil Raceway. This win was special as it now means that Ron Capps has won on every track on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series circuit.
