Fever to use #FEVER4CHANGE platform to to support local Non-Profits

The Indiana Fever players announced today the #FEVER4CHANGE initiative for the 2020 WNBA season, a way to use their platform to financially support non-profit organizations working toward social justice.

“It was important for our team to make sure we go beyond just educating and spreading awareness of social injustice.” explains Fever veteran Natalie Achonwa, “We wanted to create initiatives that provide support to organizations that are working to make actual change.”

Through the #FEVER4CHANGE initiative, the Fever will be focused this season on raising much-needed funds to benefit various organizations committed to fighting for social justice. The initiative will provide two channels to raise support:

  • Rebounds4Change: Fever players are challenging fans to show their support for social justice by pledging a financial contribution for each rebound the team pulls down this season. Further specifics on where fans can make pledged contributions will be available soon.

  • Sneaker Auction: Each Fever player will wear a unique, custom sneaker over the course of the 2020 season. The sneakers will then be auctioned at the end of the season to raise support for Fever4Change grantees.

“The organizations our team will select will range from groups that help combat food deserts with local vegetable gardens to those that provide resources for Black women and girls,” said Fever veteran Candice Dupree. “It is important for us to support organizations that are hands-on in efforts to level the playing field.”

Fever fans across Indiana can watch the Fever live by visiting FeverBasketball.com or the Fever Facebook page, as well as by downloading the official Indiana Fever app from iOS or Android stores.
