Fever to host No. 3 pick and FREE/PUBLIC draft party highlight Indiana Fever’s WNBA draft on April 10

The Indiana Fever will conduct a WNBA Draft Party on Wednesday, April 10 at Brothers Bar & Grill (255 S. Meridian Street), welcoming fans to celebrate Indiana’s 20th season and a big draft night with the No. 3 overall selection to build upon a 2018 draft haul that featured three of the top 14 picks.

Beginning at 6:00 p.m., fans are invited to join Fever staff, Freddy Fever and select players for food, drink, autographs and prizes while the live draft plays out on ESPN2 and ESPNU. First-round draft coverage airs live on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m., shifting to ESPNU for the second and third rounds at 8:00 p.m. The entire draft will be live streamed on the ESPN App.

Spread over FeverBasketball.com and the Fever’s social media assets will be interviews with the Fever’s top draft pick, direct from the WNBA draft site at Nike’s New York headquarters.

The draft party is open to the public with no age restrictions prior to 9:00 p.m., and the first 20 guests will receive a special t-shirt. Fans remaining past 9 p.m., must be 21 or older. All fans receive their first beverage free, courtesy of the Indiana Fever.

The draft is once again historic for the Fever who have never owned top-three selections in consecutive drafts. Prior to last year’s No. 2 overall pick of Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever were the only club in league history to endure a drought of longer than a decade without a top-four pick. From 2006 to 2017 during a run of 12 consecutive playoff seasons, Indiana boasted an average draft position of 11.8 – in a 12-team league.

Overall, Indiana owns the No. 3, 25 and 28 picks in the 2019 draft, with its last two choices coming in the third and final round.

Slightly more than three weeks after the April 10 draft, the Fever and the rest of the WNBA will open 2019 training camp on Sunday, May 5. For single-game ticket information or 2019 season ticket information, visit FeverBasketball.com or call (317) 917-2528.
