Looking ahead to Nebraska

Tomorrow the Purdue Women’s team will play against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2nd round after becoming victorious tonight against Illinois. Some notes from tonight’s win:

The Boilermakers are now 5-0 all-time in Big Ten Tournament play against Illinois, leading the overall series 18-14. The last time Purdue played Illinois in the tournament was in 2017 where the Boilermakers also scored 72 point in their 72-58 point win.

The win marked Purdue’s third 1st round Big Ten Tournament win in history and are 3-0.

Purdue had 4 players scoring double digits. K. McLaughlin had 17, L. Whilby had 14, A. Harris had 13, D. Oden had 13 points.

This game also marks Oden’s 28th game this season scoring in double digits, Harris’ 27th, McLaughlin’s 26th, and Whilby’s 3rd game.

Karissa McLaughlin moved up to 9th in Purdue’s record book career made three-pointers, now holding 15i surpassing Jennifer McCoby’s 157 (’92-’95)

Purdue is now 13-2 when leading at the half.
