Indiana’s Grace Berger named Big Ten Player of the Week

Indiana sophomore guard Grace Berger has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for her performance against Florida on Friday night.

The Louisville, Ky. native went 10-for-15 from the field in Gainesville for 23 points and added a career-high five steals along with three rebounds. Her efforts helped the Hoosiers improve to 4-0 for the second-straight season.

The honor marks the first IU player to win the Big Ten Player of the Week award since the 2016-17 season when Amanda Cahill earned honors on Dec. 26, 2016. It’s the second weekly honor for the Hoosiers this season as forward Mackenzie Holmes was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Nov. 12).

Berger and the No. 18 Indiana Women’s Basketball team will travel to the 2019 Paradise Jam this week. The Hoosiers will play in the Reef division and get underway on Thanksgiving night when they face No. 5 South Carolina.
