Northwestern opened the day with a victory over Minnesota 72 – 64. The Wildcats were led by Nick Martinelli who scored 28 points and had 7 rebounds. Northwestern was too strong in the paint for Minnesota to handle as they scored 32 points in the middle. Northwestern will move on to play Wisconsin tomorrow in the second game of the day.
