Inside the confines of Crisler Center, the Michigan Wolverines women’s gymnastics delivered another composed Big Ten performance, defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights women’s gymnastics 197.100–195.675.
Michigan set the tone immediately on vault, posting a 49.325 behind a meet-high 9.925 from Reyna Guggino. Ava Jordan added a 9.900, while Kayli Boozer and Jahzara Ranger each contributed 9.850s to give the Wolverines early control.

The Wolverines were steady on uneven bars (49.025), highlighted by Carly Bauman’s event-winning 9.900. Sophia Diaz chipped in a 9.825 as Michigan carried a 98.350 total into the halfway point.

The balance beam proved pivotal. Michigan matched its vault total with another 49.325, showcasing both difficulty and poise. Ranger led the lineup with a 9.925, while Quincy Walters and Bauman each scored 9.875. The crisp rotations created separation from Rutgers.

Floor sealed it. Feeding off the home crowd, Michigan erupted for a meet-best 49.425. Diaz, Bauman, and Ranger all earned matching 9.900s in a high-energy rotation that left little doubt about the outcome.

Rutgers was led by Gabrielle Dildy, who captured the all-around title with a 39.375 and tied for the top floor score at 9.900. But Michigan’s depth across all four events and three team scores of 49.325 or higher proved the difference.

In the end, it was a balanced, confident performance from the Wolverines, who once again showed why they remain one of the Big Ten’s most consistent contenders as the postseason inches closer.
