2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s Tournament Game 9 Michigan vs Maryland

Michigan started the quarterfinal game versus Maryland with a dominant first quarter, scoring 27 points and setting the tone for the game with strong offensive play. However, Maryland quickly adjusted in the second quarter, capitalizing on seven turnovers by Michigan and closing the gap. Sara Te-Biasu led the charge for Maryland, scoring 16 points in the quarter, helping them put up 31 points and cut Michigan’s lead to just four points by halftime, with the score sitting at 41-37.

In the second half, Michigan’s defense held strong, maintaining their lead through the third and fourth quarters. Jordan Hobbs played a pivotal role in securing the win, scoring 23 points and leading her team to a commanding 98-71 victory. Despite Maryland’s fight back, Michigan’s overall offensive and defensive execution proved too much. With the win, Michigan advances to the semifinals, where they will face top-seeded USC in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
