Indianapolis, IND – A sellout crowd on Saturday saw the Indiana Fever take down the top-ranked New York Liberty 83-78 and moved the Fever to an 9-13 record. The win stopped a nine game loosing streak to the Liberty, including 3 already this season.
The Fever started hot and jumped out to an early eight point lead and would hold the lead through halftime before the Liberty would respond with a strong rally and take a seven point lead entering the fourth quarter. The New York lead would eventually grow to eleven after a pair of Breanna Stewart free throws before the Fever would start to claw their way back into contention. It was at this point in the fourth that all eyes really began to focus on Caitlin Clark as the stat line was becoming evident. At the 7:07 mark, Clark grabbed her 10th rebound and became the first rookie in WNBA and Fever history to land a triple-double. Clark would ultimately end the game with 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds, but more importantly, the W over the Liberty.
