Fever’s Victoria Vivians to miss 2019 season due to injury sustained overseas

Indiana Fever guard Victoria Vivians will miss the 2019 WNBA season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during overseas play March 25 in Israel. She is expected to return for the 2020 WNBA season.

Vivians, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, made 65 3-pointers during her rookie campaign to rank second among WNBA rookies behind Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell (70). Vivians averaged 8.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game to finish as the third-leading rookie scorer and second-leading rookie rebounder in franchise history.

“Our first priority is to her health and recovery,” said Fever President and COO Allison Barber. “We will miss Victoria on the court during our 20th season, but we know she will be with us in spirit, if not in sneakers.”
