Fever Lose in Hinkle Debut

Arike Ogunbowale leads the Wings to a 96-86 victory against the Fever,

The Fever fall to the Dallas wings 96-86 on Sunday afternoon. This was the franchise record 12th loss in a row for the Fever. This is tough for the young team with seven rookies and the frustration is being heard by all. Patience is needed as the team learns. Kelsey Mitchell scored a game high 34 points and tried to keep the Fever alive. NaLyssa Smith scored 16 points and Queen Egbo added 14 points in the losing effort.

The Dallas Wings were led by their All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale who scored 22 points with five assists. Teaira McCowan had a nice return to Indy as she scored 17 points in 19 minutes of play.

The Fever went on an 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit down to five, but it was too late as Dallas pulled away for the ten-point win. This run and the first quarter start were bright spots for the Fever and shows their potential. Things will turn around for the Fever in the future. Indiana next plays on Friday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse vs the Las Vegas Aces.
