Purdue Lose a Close One

The Purdue Boilermakers lose a close game down the stretch to Michigan State 73-69. The Boilermakers had a one-point lead with 3:26 seconds to play. But then Michigan State turned it on going on an 11-6 run to end the game with the victory. Madison Layden and Abbey Ellis both had 17 points each and Jeanea Terry scored 14 points. Purdue hit 10 three pointers making that feat for the seventh time this year.

Nia Clouden led all scorers with 23 points, going 10 of 11 at the charity stripe. Alisia Smith scored 15 points.  Michigan St outscored Purdue 34 to 18 in the paint, hurting Purdue in that area of the floor. Tamara Farquhar hit a free throw with a little under three minutes to play that put the Spartans up. Later she got a little more revenge on her former team by completing a three-point play hitting her free throw that put Michigan State up for good.  It was two free throws with 2.5 seconds to go by Nia Clouden that sealed the game for Michigan State.
