Braden Smith who was honored before the game for becoming the all-time Big Ten assist leader scored 23 points and had 7 assists in the victory. Smith broke the record versus Wisconsin last Friday night. He overcame early foul trouble and hit two free throws late in the game to help the Boilermakers seal the game. Trey Kaufman -Renn scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Purdue had a 22-point lead at one point before Washington rallied to cut the lead down to single digits in the final three minutes. Hannes Steinbach led the Huskies in scoring with 17 points. Purdue has started the season with a 14-1 record for the ninth time in school history. The Boilermakers will host Penn State on Saturday afternoon. Braden Smith is the All-Time Big Ten Assist leader. Trey Kaufman-Renn finishes with 14 points and 14 rebounds versus Washington.
