Purdue defeats Southern Illinois

Purdue played a solid game versus Southern Illinois on Saturday night winning 34-17. It was the running of Devin Mockobee that led the Boilermakers to victory. Mockobee ran for 126 yards and scored two touchdowns. Ryan Browne threw for two touchdowns and had 170 yards passing.

DJ Williams threw for 202 yards in the losing effort for the Salukis who stayed close in the first quarter. The Purdue defense held Southern Illinois to only 3 points the rest of the game.

Purdue will battle the USC Trojans next Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.
