Indy Ignite Defeats San Diego Mojo, Clinches Playoff Spot

Fishers, IND – The Indy Ignite defeated the San Diego Mojo in a four-set match on Sunday, April 27, 2025, securing the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pro Volleyball Federation. The Ignite’s victory at Fishers Event Center snapped a five-match losing streak, with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-23. This win brought Indy Ignite’s record to 13-13 for the season, while San Diego Mojo concluded their road schedule with a 9-17 record.

The match saw Indy Ignite take an early lead, winning the first two sets. In the first set, after San Diego briefly led 4-3, Indy pulled ahead and maintained a slight advantage. Despite San Diego keeping the set close, Indy capitalized on Mojo errors to win 25-22. The Ignite continued their momentum into the second set, establishing an early lead and holding off a Mojo comeback attempt to win 25-19.

San Diego Mojo responded in the third set, taking an early lead and maintaining control throughout. Three kills by Moore contributed to a 6-1 Mojo lead, and strong defense, including a 5-2 blocking advantage, helped San Diego secure the set 25-20.

The fourth set was a tightly contested battle. Indy Ignite initially took a commanding lead, but San Diego rallied to tie the set at 17-17. The Mojo briefly took the lead, but Indy Ignite regained it and ultimately won 25-23, clinching the match and a playoff berth.

Indy Ignite’s victory was crucial, as it secured their place in the PVF Championship. San Diego Mojo, despite the loss, displayed resilience and fought hard, particularly in the third and fourth sets.
