Ohio State Looks Good In Victory

Ohio State and Michigan State started day three of Big Ten Tournament action. Michigan State started the first half a little slow and Ohio State jumped at the opportunity. Ohio State looked pumped to play especially since they did not play in the tournament last year. Ohio State jumped out to a 22-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. From there the Spartans seemed to wake up but it was too late as Ohio State continued its good playing and won the game 74-58.

Ohio State was led by Jacy Sheldon with 19 points who drove to the basket at will against the Spartan defense. Taylor Mikesell had 18 points with six rebounds to help the Buckeyes win. In fact, four players scored in double figures for the #1 seeded Buckeyes.

Matilda Ekh scored 21 points for Michigan State with 7 rebounds. The usually hot scoring Nia Clouden was help by the stifling Ohio State defense to 7 points in the losing effort. There were not too many open shots for Michigan State as Ohio State contested just about everything Michigan State tried. The closest Michigan State could get was 9 points before Ohio State took a time out to regroup. The Buckeyes ended the game on a 10-point scoring run and are not ready for tomorrow’s semifinal game against the Maryland-Indiana winner.
