Fever awarded waiver claim for G Jazmine Jones

The Indiana Fever announced today the team was awarded guard Jazmine Jones on a waiver claim.

“This is a great opportunity for us bring in a young player like Jazmine who has shown a lot of potential early in her career. She is a very versatile perimeter player who will increase the level of competitiveness in our training camp,” Fever Head Coach Marianne Stanley said.

Last season, Jones saw action in 27 games with the Liberty. Jones posted consecutive games of at least 16 points scored on two different occasions.

The No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft played her first two seasons with New York and was named to the 2020 WNBA, ESPN and Associated Press All-Rookie Teams. In her rookie campaign, Jones averaged 10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 21.4 minutes per game over 20 contests, while ranking first in steals, third in rebounds and fourth in points across all WNBA rookies.

Jones played in 144 career games at Louisville from 2016-20, which set a program record for most games played.
