IUPUI Stays Hot with Dominant Win Over Oakland

The IUPUI Jaguar women’s basketball team continued a home stand Sunday, defeating Oakland 82-53 to win their second straight.

They were led by Soph. Forward Macee Williams, who finished with 22 points on 7/10 shooting and 8 rebounds, as well as redshirt Soph. Forward Katelyn O’Reilly- who’s perfect 5/5 shooting day saw her finish with 13 points and 11 rebounds and a monster blocked three pointer late in the game for a double-double.

The Jaguars held the Golden Grizzlies to just 32% shooting, outrebounded them 45-21 and led in almost every stat line for the game. With Sunday’s dominant win, IUPUI improves to 4-2 in Conference play and 10-7 overall as they continue to climb the Horizon League standings.

This is the right time of year for IUPUI to catch fire, coming off of a huge defensive game against Detroit and they don’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. They return to action next Saturday against University of Illinois Chicago for a third-straight home game. It’s also IUPUI’s 50th Anniversary and Jam the Jungle day.
